Lithuanian Affairs

The Lithuanian Affairs Committee was formed in 1946 to champion the cause of Lithuanian independence. Members of the committee keep abreast of the political, social, and economic conditions in Lithuania. They encourage American government officials to support Lithuania’s membership in NATO and the European Union. Each year the committee selects a non-Lithuanian to receive the “Friend of Lithuania Award” – honoring the individual for work done to help Lithuania.
